The Utah Middle Level Association is sponsoring small grants of money to members of UMLA to facilitate the implementation of effective middle level practices or programs. We hope that you, as an individual or team, will consider applying for these grants.
Eligibility
- Member of the Utah Middle Level Association
- Anyone working in a school setting with students age 10-14
Requirements
Funds must be used to implement two or more of the 14 Characteristics of Successful Middle Schools. These 16 characteristics can be found on the National Middle School Association website (www.nmsa.org) or in the publication, “This We Believe: Keys for Educating Young Adolescents, 2010.” Implementation may be done schoolwide or within the classroom.
- Fill out and submit the Online Grant Application form.
- Projects must be completed and funds spent by February 28, 2011.
- Besides a brief project report, a presentation at the 2011 Utah Middle Level Conference will be given.
- A budget report will be due by the 2011 conference.

Proposals must be submitted by Friday, May 7, 2010

- Up to two grants will be awarded.
- Up to $500 will be awarded per grant
